Fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus)

This is the second largest mammal alive just after the Blue whale.

Fin whales can reach up to 20 meters long !

Although it is possible to observe them all year round, we tend to see them more often during the summer months.

The dorsal colour varies from silvery-grey to dark blue.

Alone, more often than not, they can navigate in groups of up to 5 animals.

Crustaceans, small fish and cephalopods are their feeding choices.

They are short divers: 10 to 20 minutes to only 200 meters deep, on average.
