The European Blue Flag
The Blue Flag is a label with a significant tourism dimension and a symbol of outstanding environmental quality. Now present in more than 40 countries across all continents, it has become a reference in many fields related to tourism, the environment and sustainable development. It thus promotes public awareness of a more respectful behaviour towards natural resources.
Never acquired, it is subject to annual renewal by the European Blue Flag Commission to vessels, beaches and marinas that apply and comply on a continuous basis with a set of criteria.
Our application to this programme is entirely voluntary. For On Tales, it is not just a means of promoting the region. We applied in 2018 with the conviction that Miranda deserves to be recognised as a yacht that respects the ocean in more ways than one.
Our team has renewed this commitment every year since and intends to continue in this direction.
Ecotourism vessels are challenged to study and care for local ecosystems, identify those that can be restored and undertake activities in this direction whenever possible. The theme chosen for the Blue Flag 2021 is “the Ecosystem Recovery Programme”, in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly, that 2021-2030 will be the Decade for Ecosystem Recovery.
